Why Boggy Should Be King

Is Prince William really worthy to be the King of Australia?

1. PRINCE WILLIAM
is the KING in waiting
PRINCE WILLIAM will be KING

2. BRIAN O'DRISSCOL
Irish Captain Brian O’Drisscol recently snubbed the Royal Wedding in exchange for Football training for his next game of Rugby.
BRIAN O'DRISSCOL should be KING

3. TANA UMAGA
On the 2005 British Lions tour of New Zealand. New Zealand opposition Tana Umaga destroyed Brian O'Drisscol resulting in BOD being removed from the field and the tour.
TANA UMAGA should be KING

4. ROBBIE COLEMAN
In February this year young Brumbies inside Centre Robbie Coleman made Tana Umaga look old, slow and silly. This resulted in  Umaga being dropped from the Waikato side.
ROBBIE COLEMAN should be KING

5. SAM PAYN
Sam Payne was a great NSW Halfback and unlike Robbie Coleman is not related to OIRFC first grade coach Guy Coleman.
SAM PAYNE should be KING

6. STEVE ARCUS
Vance Lowry, once OIRFC 1st grade coach was quoted and saying that:
"Steve Arcus is a better halfback
than Champagne"
Vance was off his chops and slurring so we knew he meant to say
"Steve Arcus is a better halfback
than Sam Payne"
STEVE ARCUS should be KING

7. BOGGY WARD
Back in 2001 Boggy scored 32 points club points Steve Arcus only scored 30.

All Hail the KING  !!!!

A True Story . . . . . maybe my first ever

I was once employed by Colonial State Bank in business Banking.  One of my favourite clients was the Annandale Hotel, for obvious reasons:
(1) Had to drink beers at each visit, and
(2) The owner was a decent bloke who followed (Norths) Rugby which we discussed often.

Years went by and on one of my “visits” to the Annandale, I mentioned I played 1st Grade for Old Iggies.  The owner looked at me and I could see the light bulb light above his head.

. . . Ahh I have finally worked you out . . .  . we played Old Iggies in a Semi Final back in 1995, I remember Matt Glascott, Stowey, Rohan Cubis and this FAT 5/8 who dropped the ball over the line in the last minute of the game.
The ref didn’t see it and awarded the try.
I was the Barker Old Boys Coach that year and we were Robbed!... You little fat bastard were that 5/8th . . . Weren’t you

Yes I was and yes I did DROP IT.

I love beating BOBS and this will not change this weekend

OLD IGNATIANS SEASON LAUNCH

Redmen Past, Present and Future,

On Saturday the 16th of April we are having our season launch for 2011 and from what we hope to be a great day of rugby against Barker Old Boys we already know the party at the Retro on Sussex street will be one to remember.

So whether you have played or are playing or intend to play come down for a good old fashioned drink.

Be warned there is 5 hens nights booked into the Retro on the same nights so there will be cougars out hunting young bucks, so watch out or before you know it you will be taken down like a bit of meat.

And remember the theme is 70’s Disco. $60 all you can eat and drink for 4 hours pay at the door.

See you there .

I JUST CAN'T WAIT - Drummoyne this weekend

Once again I just can’t get into my Super Rugby. The Waratahs are playing like pansies, my Brumbies have been broken, the Reds are fading into pink, the Force is not with me and the Rebels should stick to playing against the Gaddafi XV.
What I am really missing is a good old tussle against Drummoyne.  This gets the hairs on my arm tingling. My shoulders are waiting in ant….icipa...tion for that big hit and my hands cradled ready to accept that sweet sweet pass. Bring on the start of REAL RUGBY.

. . .what . . . no . . .  there is NO way I missed the first round already.  Campbelltown @ Campbelltown.  Round 1 is over!!!

Oh well at least it was not Drummoyne at home.  I love that derby.
See you this weekend.

OPPOSITION: Drummoyne
WHERE: Ryde International Oval (IORE)

"ENCOURAGING START" - KENTWELL CUP COACH

Don’t let the scoreboard fool you. With 20 min to go we were down 13 –10 and the Redmen believing in victory, but throwing 3 intercepts after that point isn’t going to win you many games! Overall there were many positives to take out of the game.

Our scrum, although outweighed by 100kg was a powerhouse throughout, providing good, clean ball for the backs to show their wares.
