Don’t let the scoreboard fool you. With 20 min to go we were down 13 –10 and the Redmen believing in victory, but throwing 3 intercepts after that point isn’t going to win you many games! Overall there were many positives to take out of the game.
Our scrum, although outweighed by 100kg was a powerhouse throughout, providing good, clean ball for the backs to show their wares.
The front row of Toby, Carl and Xavier put in all day Brenno and Ross at the lineout were superb, guaranteeing our balland the backrow hustled all day.
The backs looked very slick early on with our new recruit Sam scoring his first try for the men in red after 20 minutes.
As this was our first game together, it was a great effort that can only get better. The main areas that let us down on the weekend were at the breakdown and our skill execution. Areas where we are normally very strong. Lots of work on those areas this week at training
