HUNTERS HILL - Note change of times

Redmen,
Stop the press - updated times for Saturday:
4's - 11:25am - Boronia No 1
3's - 12:20pm - Boronia No 1
5's - 1:00pm  - Boronia No 2
Colt's - 1:25pm - Boronia No 1
2's - 2:40pm - Boronia No 1

Short and sharp:
After a tight battle against KNOX at the weekend, we walked away with 1 loss, 2 draws and 3 wins. All in all a good day for the Redmen against one of my most spirited competitors. Big shout out to the undefeated Nuts and Bolts who notched up their 6 straight win in a top of the table clash. Well done lads.
Moving forward we are at Boronia Park against Hunters Hill this weekend.
The Royal at Paddo will be hosting drinks for the Reddies on Saturday night with donations going to an injured players fund. Should be another cracker of a night. Last time I was there a certain second rower known for his turn of speed jumped up on the bar, popped the champagne, sprayed the crowd, smashed the bottle and staged dived into some adoring (read groping) fans. Let’s hope we can see that again!
That’s all for now Reddies. I’ll see your ugly mugs at training this evening and/or wiping the floor with HH on Saturday.
Yours in Red,
Birdman
P.S. for your viewing pleasure…... Which ones the redneck?

OIU Function - “Accidental Death of an Anarchist”

Dear Friends of Loyola,
Our fund raiser this year will be a Theatre Party (see attached invitation) on Wednesday 27th June.

Our thanks  to the Costi Brothers and Lenore Robertson for their generosity in making this Charity viewing possible. Please take this opportunity to support Loyola Senior High School, Mt Druitt, by getting together your family and friends for an entertaining evening at the Zenith Theatre, Chatswood.

Tickets are $35 and must be pre-paid (see tear off slip in the attachment) and are to be collected from the Box Office on the night of the performance.

Doors open at 7pm.  Parking is available on site for a $7 fee.

New Sponsor putting on drinks this Thursday

Gentlemen,

A reminder that this Thursday our good friends and recent sponsors over at Carbon Trade Exchange (CTX) are putting on a few beers and nibbles to celebrate one of the greatest partnerships in the history of business and sport!

Please make your way over to the Forbes Hotel (Corner of King and York Streets, CBD) from 5.30 for a catch up before the scheduled bye round.

This invitation is open to past and present players, supporters and friends of Old Ignatians Rugby.

It’s a great opportunity for a catch up in the city and an introduction to our new sponsors.

We would like to formally thank CTX for their sponsorship of Old Ignatians and we look forward to seeing you on Thursday evening.

Yours in Rugby,

Gus Halligan

Guest Speaker: Rev Dr Richard Leonard SJ
When our children get sick, our spouses get cancer, when everything goes wrong for our parents in their old age, or when we lose our job - we might ask where the hell is God? Our faith is easier when everything is going well. But what about the times in our lives when it is challenged, undermined and threatened by the things that happen to us, or those we love? This session will help put some intelligent and hopeful words around how we can hold to a God who walks with us when we are in the “valley of tears” and in “the shadow of death”.
Rev Dr Richard Leonard SJ directs the Australian Catholic Office for Film & Broadcasting. He is a visiting professor of communications at the Pontifical Gregorian University, Rome and lectures at Jesuit Theological College, Melbourne and The Broken Bay Institute, Sydney. His latest book, Where the Hell is God? Finding God in Pain and Suffering (Paulist Press) has become an international religious bestseller.
