5th Grade Report - Drummoyne

Gents,

Well done on beating Drummoyne last weekend. 8-0 result to the good guys.

Keeping Drummoyne to nil was heartening, as they had a lot of possession in our red zone and our defence was excellent. We came off our line with good speed and met all their attack on the front foot. The backs, in particular, showed a marked improvement in defence, lead by Boggy and Matt Curtin who both put in some great hits.

It was great to have legendary Redman , Matty Thomas, on the paddock again! Matty showed all his skills have not yet left him!

A big welcome to Patrick Menary, who scored a meat pie in his first game for the Redman! Well done Pat!

Granvil, thanks for organising the 2 colties to help us out, they both played really well!

We won all grades but 1st v Drummoyne, despite having over 40 guys unavailable across the grades. It showed the club has great ticker with plenty of guys backing up and helping out when needed. First grade put in a great effort against the Professionals from Drummoyne, despite being outweighed by about 10kg per player and missing a lot of regular 1st graders!

This week’s round is v Barker OB at Ryde.

Kind Regards

David Bryant (Happy Hooker, now starting to regain movement in neck and shoulders)
