Mason set for rugby debut with Old Ignatians 5th Grade

Willie Mason is set to make his rugby union debut on Saturday after being included in the Old Iggies squad for their clash with Knox.  The former Australian rugby league international made six appearances for Hull KR before his failure to obtain a Tongan passport led to him being de-registered.

The 31-year-old forward has since agreed to join French club Toulon for 2011-12 and is on course to make his cross code representative debut at Koola Park. His earliest opportunity to feature will be against Knox Old Boys, but he is expected to back up for Old Iggies who face a catch up game against Barker.

Alongside Mason, the latest additions to the squad include veteran twin brothers and Greek Internationals Steve Arcus and Telstra Wholesale  Big Al Antonious.

The 5th Grade squad is comprised of 15 different nationalities with Warwick Man (Luxenburg), Hugh Twomey (Darwin), Mark Sheridan (Ireland), President Greg Easy (Naru), Matt Smith (St Kitts), Matt Eve's (Victoria), Andy Lukas (Romania), Adam Rixon & Olly Trussler (England), Tim Daveron (Dundas Valley), Chris Pascoe (Brunie Island), Chris Ryan (North Korea), Gav Akers (Skynet . .  . . in the same future as the Terminator all the nations of the world are known as Skynet), Ben King (says his from Barbardos . . .but actually a Canadian citizen), Luke Hannan (was kicked out of the UK and no other conutry would accept him so he is like Tom Hanks in that movie about a guy with no nationality), Tom Droulers (France), Tim Hawkins (his wheelchair bound father says his is from the Universe), Matty Wright (Easter Island), Chris Ryan (Northen Ireland), Tom Gadaffi Payten (Libya).

And of course the start studded Italian front row of Angelo Rocco Mariaona, Leonardo Adorini and Ghiraldini Lombardo.

The star studded team is coached by national David The Oracle Bryant (Vatican City)
