It is with great pride that I'm able to congratulate the inaugural Old Iggies 7s team on a stellar performance at Kiama 7s on Saturday. The boys came in Runners Up in the Plate final to Randwick (ones) after knocking out Norths (2nds), Gordon (colts) and Manly (2nds) in the elimination finals. Testament to their success, they were only beaten by the two teams to take home the silverware (West Harbour and Randwick) and were the best performing subbies club by a mile!
Junior Wallaby Dan Horan and Hollywood led a rag tag team of misfits including none other than Breaker Baker aka Danny Wicks, G 'my girlfriend's punching above her weight category' man, Al Carver, Mudgee Nuts, Mudgee Nut's mate, Sam Jauncey, Hamo and Birdman aka Dr Zoidberg on a dream run claiming the scalps of three successive shute shield clubs. Based on the success of this tour we are looking at including the Kiama 7s in our official preseason tour programme.
