Wednesday the 4th May 2011,
To my fellow Redmen,
It is with much regret that I write to advise you all of the sudden death of a past player and fellow lover of Rugby. Christopher Adam OBrien was a past student of St. Ignatius College and played Rugby with the Redmen. He was a great lover of the game. Chris was 29 years old and passed away from an epileptic seizure at home on the weekend.
Chris leaves behind a loving partner Jaya, his mother Gail, sister Juliette, and brother James. He now joins his father, Professor Chris OBrien, who passed away two years ago.Chris will be greatly missed by all those that knew him and as a Rugby club we extend our very best wishes to his partner Jaya and his family.
In honour of Chris memory I have requested that Mosman and OIRFC 1st XV wear black arm bands this weekend and observe a minute’s silence before kick off.
I am sure there are members in our extended club that will have known Chris, played football with him, and are friends of the family. To all of you, we extend our well wishes and hope that you remember all the good times you enjoyed with Chris.
Yours in Rugby
Greg Easy
President
